NYC Taxis Going Green

By 2012 New York City plans to convert 100% of its taxi cabs to hybrid vehicles. The city already boasts 1,300 “green” taxis, and with Ford, General Motors, and Nissan reserving 300 hybrids a month exclusively for NYC, Mayor Bloomberg is confident the green fleet will be ready in time to meet the new fuel efficiency standards placed on the big apple.
