Happy Turkey Day

Okay, it’s a day late, but some of us were out doing our part to stimulate the economy today. Here’s a timely and topical editorial cartoon from Michael Ramirez:

There’s some anecdotal evidence that Black Friday just might not turn out to be quite as bad a ‘bleak Friday’ as predicted. Here in north New Jersey, several malls were packed. The Instapundit blog offers updates from the Retail Support Brigades, some of whom found long lines this morning for their ‘doorbuster’ specials. Plus, Bloomberg reports this:

November and December sales at stores open at least a year may rise 1 percent, the smallest gain since 2002, according to the International Council of Shopping Centers, a New York-based trade group.

Did you venture out today? How were the stores — and what did you come home with? Let us know in the comments.
